Our Services

NHS / Private Eye Tests

We offer FREE NHS sight tests to those who are eligible. We also offer glasses starting from free of charge for those who are entitled to the NHS voucher. Please follow the link to find out if you are eligible for an NHS test / Optical voucher

Emergency Eyecare

This is a tailored service that is provided free of charge to ALL patients regardless of age or NHS eligibility. You can self-refer should you have an acute problem with your eye/vision or you may be acutely referred by a medical practitioner.

OCT Scanner

We have a brand new state of the art OCT scanner here at Insight Eyecare. Optical Coherence Tomography is a wonderful piece of kit that uses light wave technology to enable us to assess the eye health in depth and detail.

Contact Lenses

We are able to fit and supply an array of contact lenses to an age range across the board. Lenses include soft, hard (RGP), multifocal, toric, daily, monthly, as well as those designed for the stabilisation of short-sightedness (myopia).

Low Vision

Here in Wales, we offer FREE Low Vision assessments to those with visual impairments, regardless of whether they are registered sight impaired. This fantastic service offers the provision of various specialised magnifiers as well as lighting, tints and referring to other services for further support.

Visual Stress testing

Visual stress, also known as Meares-Irlen syndrome can affect up to 20% of the population and can be more common in those who have dyslexia. Common symptoms can include eyestrain, headaches, movement in writing, distortion, blurring, issues with reading.

Myopia management

The aim of myopia management is to slow down the rate of progression of short-sightedness (myopia). The estimated global presence of myopia is 30%, a figure which is rising. Moderate to high myopia has increased risk factors for glaucoma, retinal detachment and macula degeneration which can lead to visual impairment. There are different ways that we are able to manage myopia at Insight eyecare. One of which is via means of specialised glasses and another uses specialised daily contact lenses.
